Data

It has never been easier to monitor and measure your plants and their environments. Setting up your garden for control over WiFi is something I have refined over time. I share tools I have used here and things I look for in future tools.

Govee Tools

Govee’s WiFi temperature and humidity sensors have been extremely helpful in monitoring a sunroom, tropical room, my houseplants, and my outdoor garden. The data is easy to export and I have found them to be reliable and consistent with other sensors. Setup of the devices and the app are easy to use too.

I also have been saved by their water detector on multiple occasions. I highly recommend them.

Ambient Weather

I have a few of their personal weather stations. This has been incredibly helpful in understanding temperature, wind direction, total rain amounts, and other localized events. I highly recommend this, and your data helps to inform predictions across the network.

Watering

I use the Orbit B-Hyve system for my outdoor garden, with a number of their WiFi Faucets attached to splitters on my hose.

I use this Rainpoint system for my indoor garden. The setup can take a while if you have a lot of plants there, but it has been a massive time saver.
